Record Book – The 100-ODI club

  The second ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan at Nelson tomorrow will be the hundredth contested by the two teams against each other, in a span of nearly 45 years dating back to their first encounter at Christchurch in 1972-73. Thus, it will become the eleventh fixture to reach the milestone of a century of ODI matches.

  In the 99 ODIs played so far, New Zealand have won 43 to Pakistan’s 53, besides a tie and two no-results. Inzamam-ul-Haq has played the most matches (45), scored the most runs (1283) and recorded the highest score (137* at Sharjah in 1993-94) in this fixture. Waqar Younis (79) has taken the most wickets, while Shoaib Akhtar’s 6/16 at Karachi in 2001-02 are the best bowling figures.
